Romance rocketed when: The romance that would launch a thousand celeb mags began in 1997 when they met at a Manchester United party. The gawping public then slavishly followed their every move — and haircut — through the tackiest wedding ever, two babies and countless gossip stories.

Make or break: The world was quite literally rocked on its axis — we felt the wobble — when the NOTW splashed the news that David had been unfaithful to Vic when he moved to Spain. Since then, they've both been on a press offensive to prove that EVERYTHING'S FINE, and recently announced Posh's third pregnancy. But according to the NOTW, the couple are now on the brink of a split.

Soppy speak: Prior to their rumoured marital woes, the Beckhams couldn't stop telling us how great the other was. Victoria cringily revealed, "He's a beast in the bed…I am really really in love," whereas Becks gushed, "I'm with someone I love and want to spend the rest of my life with…since I've got to know her I love her more and more." Since then, David’s merely stated that he'll 'never' divorce Posh. How romantic.

Biz Bitch says: A year or so ago, no-one would have thought Britain's reigning royal couple would split or even cheat on each other. Now, however, it's become all a bit predictable. Constant media speculation has tarnished the once-golden pair's relationship, and no-one's sure whether they're really in it for the romance anymore.
