Known for?: Packed them in the multiplexes earlier this summer in eco-blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow, previously starring in a series of thoughtful, indie flicks (Donnie Darko, Moonlight Mile etc).

Romance rocketed when: They were introduced by Jake's actor sister Maggie — who is also Kirsten's best friend — two years ago and have been inseparable ever since. Bleurgh.

Make or break: There doesn't seem to have been any trouble in paradise yet for these exceptionally loved-up starlets. Give 'em time…

Soppy speak: As if she's swallowed a Perfect Relationship handbook, Kirsten burbles: "Jake represents a turning point for me - a time of greater awareness and happiness. I realise that I have been waiting for this moment for a long time...I've learned that it is rare to find a sexual connection with someone. I was quite happy to wait. When I fell in love with Jake, it felt right."
