Devastated Jade told her cancer has spread

Jade Goody has been told her cancer has spread and all doctors can do now is give her treatment to prolong her life.

The 27-year-old mother of two young boys sobbed: "I don't want to die," as she was given the news at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea yesterday. The tumours have spread to her liver, bowel and groin. Doctors have not given her a survival percentage. "I am devastated," the Big Brother star was quoted as saying. "I have gone from a 40 per cent chance of a cure to seeing how long I can stay alive. The whole thing is terrifying. To try and remain positive, I am hoping a new type of treatment will suppress and control the cancer, which is very aggressive. I am in a nightmare."

Goody was originally diagnosed with cervical cancer while she was appearing on the Indian version of Big Brother last August.

She lost her hair during bouts of chemotherapy, and last week discharged herself from hospital to join her sons Bobby, five, and four-year-old Freddie at their home in Upshire, Essex.

But she returned to the Royal Marsden after becoming violently ill and collapsing.

Her boyfriend Jack Tweed, 21, was said to be "numb" over the news.
