The Trotters' run of success seems set to continue - bookmakers have already installed this year's two-part special as the overwhelming favourite to become most-watched show on Christmas Day.
But there is sad news - John Sullivan, writer of the hit comedy, confirmed last month that they will be the final episodes.
The series was originally supposed to have finished in 1996, when a windfall made the brothers multimillionaires. But David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst were back last year for a Christmas Day special - watched by more than 20 million people - in which they ended up back in Peckham when a business crash left them bankrupt.
In this year's special - the highlight of the BBC's season - the Trotter brothers embark on a trip to France and pick up some unexpected cargo.
Then Del Boy and Rodney discover they have different fathers. Rodney, played by Lyndhurst, 40, finds out his real father was gangster Freddy the Frog.
The truth emerges when Rodney sees a photo of Freddy and notices the pair are spitting images of each other. Del, played by Jason, 61, reveals that he has known about his brother's paternity for years - but was too scared to say.
