Death on Kingsland Road

If you go down Kingsland Road tonight, you're sure of a big surprise - although, given this is deepest Hoxton, maybe parades of zombies won't be such a shock.

Death On Kingsland Road is a one-off collection of parties and exhibitions intended to celebrate and showcase the work of three London artist collectives who have all latched on to the theme of death and bad horror movies for their latest designs.

Bert Industries is taking over the coffee house at cutting-edge boutique No. One, which will be a bar for the evening, complete with limb candles, nooses and Bert's trademark evil nuns and voodoo dolls.

At dreambagsjaguarshoes, meanwhile, Call Of The Wild have been let loose to play with the theme of nature turned nasty. Their, erm, distinctive neon pink and black 'winding vine' wallpaper will adorn the walls, together with one-off works of art and examples of their fashion range. Shoreditch favourites the Psychonauts will provide the music.

Probably the best place to head, though, is Space17 (you can't miss it, there are graffiti zombies all over the front), where clothing label and graffiti agents Pure Evil have gone a bit mental.

As well as stunning graffiti work and special appearances by the notorious Pure Evil bunny, there will be live music by noisemeisters Boedekka, whom Boy George described as 'like Pink Floyd with four Syd Barretts' (they're very big in Spain, apparently).

Wander into the darkened backrooms and you'll find a selection of cult horror B-movies being screened, too. And watch out for those zombies...
