'You have to pay for quality'

Tessa Reid is one of those vendors confident the housing market is strong enough for her to sell her house for the price she wants.

The 41-year-old full-time mother is asking £475,000 for the four-bedroom house she shares with her husband and two children in Rosaline Road, Fulham.

The house is priced near the top end of the market for the area but she is determined to get the asking price for it.

She believes it is worth every penny. "We have spent nearly £100,000 renovating the place," said Mrs Reid, who is marketing the house through estate agents Faron Sutaria.

"The price reflects the work we have done on the property. If you want quality interiors you have to pay for it.

"We are in zone two, near to Earls Court, Chelsea, Fulham and the river. And 'Munster village', where we live, is really coming up. Everything is so handy. It is a very quiet street and great for the kids. There is not much traffic going through here."

Mrs Reid believes summer is the best time to sell and that she will be able to move on before the predicted property price crash happens.
