Underworld: live gigs

Underworld at Brixton Academy is a classic fixture that should --on paper - prove an explosive affair. In support of their epic A Hundred Days Off album, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith launch their tour with two massive shows where they will be joined by Darren Price - an underrated DJ and producer who has toured with the band for many years.

The absence of former member Darren Emerson appears to have had little impact on Underworld, other than the band's increasing average age - as demonstrated with their victorious sunset appearance at Creamfields. But Emerson showed them the light 10 years ago and that injection of youth and energy must never be forgotten. All in all, this should be one of the gigs of the year. Bring it on.
