Tom Hiddleston: Playing James Bond would be an extraordinary opportunity
Tom Hiddleston has said that being asked to play James Bond would be an “extraordinary opportunity.”
The British star, who is currently starring in The Night Manager on BBC one, has added more fuel to the 007 rumours by admitting that he would be keen to play the role.
Speaking to the Sunday Times, he said: “Time magazine ran a poll and there were, like, 100 actors on the list, including Angelina Jolie. But, yes, it’s nice to be included in the 100.
“I’m a huge fan of the series. We all went to see Spectre when we were shooting Skull Island in Hawaii. I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing.”

He added: “If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity.”
Hiddleston is already 10/1 to play the role, according to a number of bookmakers, and has become a firm fan favourite.
The Avengers actor has stiff competition from the likes of Damien Lewis and Idris Elba, who are still out in front, while other contenders include Henry Cavill and John Boyega.
Daniel Craig is yet to announce that he is stepping down from the role, but is rumoured to have thrown in the towel.
While producers seem keen to keep him on for one more film, he recently admitted that he’d rather ‘slash his wrists’ than play the famous spy again.
