For music, St Martin-in-the-Fields, the English National Opera and the Royal Opera House are within walking distance.

As for eateries, the lucky resident can take their pick from the array of restaurants in Chinatown and Covent Garden, the long established Brown's on St Martin's Lane or Asia de Cuba in the St Martin's Lane Hotel. If those aren't up to scratch, The Ivy is a 15-minute walk up Charing Cross Road.

The property goes on sale in April. Developers Towntalk and HGI Commercial are converting the top floor of the building on the south-west corner of the square - developed in 1830 and named after the sea battle which cost one of Britain's most famous military hero's his life - into a shell which can be converted by the buyer into a two bedroom, two bathroom penthouse with its own lift.

Towntalk and HGI Commercial expect to convert the third and fourth floors for residential use as well. Should they do so, they may well ask for £1.5 million per floor, instead of £4.5 million for the lot.
