The words 'secret location' on a flyer usually signify three things. First off, you'll be buying cans of Red Stripe with raffle tickets; secondly, the cloakroom will be renamed 'the floor'; and thirdly, you'll end up walking home.

In the rain. Rebel Souls take over a secret location in King's Cross on Saturday for a night of house and breaks. Fortunately, said location happens to be a two-roomed, 700-capacity studio with more than a whiff of class about it - Annie Lennox has hired it for the whole of June.

Bearded titan Tom Middleton and Parisian Dan Ghenacia head up the house room, with leading breaks night Chew The Fat taking care of the second area. There, Paul Arnold and Dark Globe will throw down rolling beats, with electro and hip hop coming courtesy of Bones & Ramsey.

The 333 has witnessed many a great night over the last seven years - it marks its birthday on Sunday - but promoter Neil Boorman remembers the Crackin' Skullz wheelchair arm-wrestling competition with particular fondness.

'It was in extremely bad taste,' he recalls. 'The winner received a lap dance from a topless porn model and, as a result, rose from his chair and regained the power to walk. Half the club left in disgust. Half the club stayed in celebration.'

While Sunday's 333 seventh birthday do is an invite-only affair, Friday's FESH Presents... dfr (dirty filthy racket), is as good an introduction as any to the venue's progressive, tongue-in-cheek music policy.

Keith Tenniswood headlines the main room, so expect plenty of upfront and proper electro and the odd Two Lone Swordsmen exclusive. New York's Rub & Tug take control in Room Two and come highly recommended - their sleazy, illicit, punk-funk loft parties have been the talk of NY for the past three years. Room Three promises 'mental, beer-soaked party filth', which sounds like no bad thing.

While the Prince's Trust Urban Music Festival sports an eminently tasty line-up, there's an underlying sense that you'll probably be surrounded by 13-year-old water-pistol-toting gangsters.

Far better, then, to head straight for the TwiceasNice Official Jay-Z After Party at Ministry on Sunday, where crossgenre urban flavours come from Steve Sutherland, Shortee Blitz, Spoony and Matt Jam Lamont. Cryptically, special surprise PAs are also promised.

Will Jigga be strutting his stuff? TwiceasNice won't confirm anything but promise that the big man will definitely be in attendance.
