Punch-drunk on pictures

When Neil Leifer stopped working for Time Inc in 1990, his work had appeared on more than 200 Sports Illustrated, Time and People covers - a record for any photographer.

During a lifetime of snapping, his favourite subject was Muhammad Ali, and two of these pictures - Ali KO-ing Cleveland Williams in 1966, and Sonny Liston in 1965 - were voted first and second best sports photographs of all time by Observer Sports Monthly.

This exhibition of Leifer's work (featuring those winning shots) is also, of course, an ode to the world's greatest sportsman.

The fighting pictures provide the most gripping images: picked out in the bright lights of the ring, Ali is transformed from the stillfeatured young man we've seen taping his hands or admiring himself in a mirror into a beautiful but terrifying warrior with a leonine snarl.

The quality of Leifer's work is indisputable but it's his subject that's the draw: Ali the proud young fighter is an image it's impossible to tire of seeing.

Also on display here is a copy of the ultimate Ali tribute: GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) is a 792-page, 75lb book of which only 10,000 copies have been printed - a snip at £2,000 for the Collector's Edition, or £5,000 for the Champ's Edition (covered in white silk and including an original art piece by Jeff Koons). It has to be seen to be believed, and there won't be many other chances.
