Incredible experience?

Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance PS2 Price: £39.99

Much like Metal Gear Solid VR Missions on PSOne, the PS2 version now gets a re-rub with Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance. The problem is, the extra substance has a cash-in feel to it; indeed, if you bought MGS2 first time around, this will feel like an expensive afterthought.

Of course, if you didn't, this is an incredible experience; stealthily taking Solid Snake through the original counter-terrorist game is still one of PS2's best experiences - and all this can be enjoyed with the knowledge you have the extra missions that Substance boasts to turn to when you get stuck.

If the prospect of moving Solid Snake around on a skateboard and then sitting back with a 'making of' DVD really excites, then Substance is worth another £40. But otherwise, it's an entertaining rental proposition and nothing more.
