Harry Styles's teenage fans took to Twitter and Facebook today to celebrate the end of the One Direction star’s romance with singer Taylor Swift after an “almighty row” on holiday.
Messages included “hahaha we all knew this day would be soon”, “Let’s throw a huge party” and “praise God, yippee!”
After being photographed kissing in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, the couple flew to the Caribbean island of Virgin Gorda. However, Swift, 23, flew back to New York alone on January 4.
She posted a cryptic message on Twitter reading “Til you put me down”, referring to a line in a song about ex-boyfriend John Mayer: “Flew me to places I’d never been/’Til you put me down.”
After Swift went home, Styles, 18, flew to Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island for a party before flying back to London last week.
Swift is expected to confide in her good friend Selena Gomez who recently broke up with her boyfriend of more than two years, Justin Bieber.
