Drawn to kill

Shoreditch hipspot dreambagsjaguarshoes makes a habit of holding interesting exhibitions: here, though, they've surpassed themselves.

To coincide with the second part of Quentin Tarantino's chicks-with-swords fest, they've commissioned a graffiti face-off between two artists across the walls of the bar.

It's a unique collaboration. Mangainfluenced Gez, who fuses Western and Japanese styles in his digital pieces, has designed some astonishing, full-action images of The Bride (Uma Thurman) that have been transferred to digital wallpaper.

French artist Reso, a graffiti kid since 1989 who also works with digital animation and creates music videos, has taken Daryl Hannah's vicious assassin, Elle, as his character and created spray-painted images of her, including a stunning portrait behind the DJ booth. The

result is one big fight scene: with the two opponents sizing each other up as you enter the space, then battling across the upstairs and downstairs bars, with a tumble down the staircase in between.

There's even a nod to that familiar Shoreditch face, Banksy, with some stencil work of the masked and suited fighters lurking in various corners.

Such an unusual intertwining of art styles and media is a bold and extremely successful move. It all looks as much fun to have created as it is to view: the visceral, urgent feel of this graffiti artwork perfectly capturing the spirit of the two films.
