'She is so happy. But more because she actually did it rather than because she won it. It is a big achievement. She couldn't believe she'd won.'
Mr Grass said Miss Thatcher had planned to visit Vietnam after the show, but has instead decided to
return to London to capitalise on her fame. It is thought her success in the jungle could earn her £1million. She is expected to release an autobiography and also likely to receive numerous TV appearance offers.
Miss Thatcher will be able to charge up to £10,000 a time as an after-dinner speaker.
It has also been mooted that she will be offered her own television chatshow. Celebrity PR guru Max Clifford said: 'This programme has given her a chance to be Carol Thatcher, as opposed to Maggie Thatcher's daughter.
'She has come across as a bright and very likeable girl and has totally been herself.'
He added: 'With the right agent or manager, there is no reason why she cannot make a minimum of £1million through TV appearances, various endorsements and possibly even a book.'
The show's four previous winners have all gone on to enjoy career revivals. Last year's winner, Joe Pasquale, made £1million through a sell-out UK tour, a spell in panto and a stand-up DVD.
DJ Tony Blackburn, who won the first series, former England cricketer Phil Tufnell, a 2003 winner, and former pop singer Kerry Katona, who also won the show, also cashed in on their fame.
Although Miss Thatcher left the after-show party early, the rest of the group - which included antiques expert David Dickinson, Ex-Atomic Kitten singer Jenny Frost and food and wine connoisseur Jilly Goolden - stayed on.
But the celebrities, who each lost, an average of a stone in weight in the jungle, retired to their hotel by 11pm.
