Carol Thatcher yesterday lifted the lid on life at No.10 under her 'workaholic' mother.

The journalist revealed that the Downing Street years had taken their toll on Britain's first female Prime Minister.

Thatcher also told rivals on TV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! about plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Russians dubbing her mother The Iron Lady.

'That did her the power of good internationally...people expected her to be tough.' She added: 'I saw how hard she worked to get the job, then saw she was a workaholic when she got it.' Singer Jimmy Osmond asked what Lady Thatcher, 80, did for fun these days. 'Not a lot,' said her daughter. 'She's not very well...if you hold down that sort of job for eleven-and-a-half years something is going to blow a gasket, isn't it?'

Thatcher said Mrs T's job was never short of excitement. 'There was always a drama - either the currency was going down the drain, war with Argentina...'

She joked: 'You did not like to look worried or nervous because you would have been hauled off to the asylum in the second week. Nothing would have convinced me to go into politics. The tension gets to you.'

As the first eviction approached, ex-Blue star Antony Costa's Bushtucker Trial in the jungle reality show involved a karaoke session in a booth while contending with slime and insects.

Former Neighbours actress Kimberley Davies said she wanted to be the show's first departure. 'Missing my kids is the main thing,' she said.
