Beinazir Lasharie was taken away on a bus to Normalsville, last night

Beinazir Lasharie was booted off after a public vote. She failed to earn housemate status in the new rules for the 10th series.

Viewers instead decided to keep Angel McKenzie, Marcus Akin, Siavash Sabbaghpour, Sophia Brown and Sree Dasari in the house to battle for the £100,000 prize.

Greeted by presenter Davina McCall but no audience, Lasharie, a 28-year-old study support assistant from London, described her experience in the house as "weird".

As a non-housemate, she was deprived of all creature comforts and had to sleep on the floor. McCall, who conducted the eviction interview inside the red double-decker which has "Normalsville" as the destination on the front, said she thought Lasharie would have been as outgoing as she appeared on the launch night.
Lasharie said she was hungry, tired and desperate for a cup of tea.

As she was whisked off home, the remaining 15 housemates celebrated as the series officially began. The five contestants saved by the public had been put up for eviction after failing a biscuit-dunking challenge to become housemates.

Other contestants have already faced challenges that include shaving off their eyebrows, walking across broken glass and changing their names by deed poll to Dogface and Halfwit.
