Posh is 'too controlling' says Sandra Beckham

David Beckham's mother has told his wife Victoria that she has only herself to blame if he has been unfaithful.

Sandra Beckham was involved in a telephone shouting match with her daughter-in-law following the weekend allegations that the England soccer captain had twice seduced a beauty salon owner.

'She told Victoria that she is too controlling with David and that it was inevitable he was going to rebel,' said a source close to the couple yesterday.

'Victoria was furious and she can't see why people are not being more understanding of her position.'

The latest crisis in the Beckhams' troubled marriage blew up after 22-yearold Dannielle Heath sold her story to a Sunday newspaper for an estimated £40,000.

She claimed to have had two recent sexual encounters with the 29-year-old footballer at the couple's Madrid home while Victoria, who is four months pregnant, was back in Britain.

Miss Heath, from Harlow, Essex, had visited the house to give him a spray-on tan. She claimed that the relationship stopped short of full sex but gave intimate details about Beckham and said he acted as if he was 'starved of affection'.

Friends of the Beckhams now believe Victoria is feeling so much stress that she is concerned for the life of her unborn child.

She has said she is not sure whether she can trust her husband any more - even though he is denying any impropriety with Miss Heath only months after personal assistant Rebecca Loos claimed she had an affair with him.

The couple, who are due to fly back to Madrid this morning, issued a firm denial after the story appeared, saying: 'The allegations are completely and totally untrue.'

Yesterday they instructed their

lawyers to send legal letters to the Sunday Mirror and Miss Heath.

But Victoria, 30, has confided to friends that she does not know what to think.

'She is feeling under immense pressure,' said one yesterday. 'David is denying that anything went on between him and the girl but Victoria says she no longer knows whether he's lying or telling the truth and it is driving her crazy.

'She is worried about what effect the stress will have on her health - she has been told that stress is bad for the baby.

'To make matters worse, she had a huge row with Sandra, who is sticking up for David.'

The source added: 'Sandra has complained to Victoria that she is trying to control David to the extent that he has to ask permission to go out and see his friends.

'She said it was inevitable that David would rebel against this just as he rebelled against her when he was growing up and she told him he had to stay in.

'Sandra spoke out because she feels that David is unable to express himself to Victoria because she just shouts him down. His mother has been spending a lot more time in Madrid over the last few months and she and David have become closer than they have been in years.

'She is also concerned at how much influence Victoria's parents have over the couple - they tell Victoria what to do and she tells David. Sandra feels David needs someone to stick up for him.'

Beckham's accuser is believed to be in Cyprus considering her next move. Back in Harlow, her friends insisted they did not believe she would make up the story.

'She is not a liar,' said Sandie Druggan, 34. 'I met David myself, in her shop on March 30 this year. He was using a sunbed and was being quite flirtatious with the girls in the shop.

'He came out without his top on to say he needed another towel, when he obviously didn't.'

Another friend, who asked not to be named, said: 'Victoria took Dannielle under her wing and bought her presents. When she told me she was giving David Beckham waxing treatments I joked around with her that she had better be careful as he might start flirting with her, but she would just laugh it off saying, "No, no, it's not like that".'
