Brash and tabloidal it may be, but compared to Top Gear (which will soon be returning, with Jeremy Clarkson and his air guitar), this is an intelligent and watchable motoring show, made on a fraction of its BBC rival's budget. But with virtually all classic British makes now owned by foreigners (Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar), I found myself lamenting the absence of a truly patriotic car on our screens, and it seems to me that there's really only one marque that nowadays symbolises the full majestic glory of our native design.
