Anya Taylor-Joy ‘secretly marries boyfriend Malcolm McRae in an intimate courthouse wedding’

Anya Taylor-Joy has married boyfriend Malcolm McRae after a year of dating, according to reports.

The Queen’s Gambit star, 26, is believed to have exchanged vows with her 27-year-old musican and actor beau in an “intimate courthouse wedding” in the US.

After saying “I do,” they are then said have flown to Australia where Taylor-Joy resumed filming Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road.

She’s starring as a younger version of Charlize Theron’s character in the earlier film, which saw Tom Hardy take over the Mad Max title character from Mel Gibson.

According to Page Six, Taylor-Joy and McRae plan to hold a bigger ceremony with their friends and family once she has finished her filming commitments and they can return to the US for a longer period of time.

Evening Standard has contacted a representative for Taylor-Joy for comment.

Taylor-Joy and McRae made their red carpet debut at Vanity Fair’s Oscars afterparty in February.

Opening up about her relationship for the first time in March to British Vogue, the actress gushed: “I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We’re basically 80 years old and 7 at the same time, and it works really well.”

In July 2021, The Sun reported that McRae had “practically moved into [Taylor-Joy’s] LA home”.

They first sparked speculation of an engagement a month ago when Taylor-Joy was photographed wearing a dazzling diamond ring on her left hand.
