USA Nascar driver killed during race track row

A Nascar driver has died after he was struck by a fellow competitor’s car during a row on a race track.

In video footage uploaded to YouTube Kevin Ward Jr can be seen getting out his car after it collided with three time champion Tony Stewart’s car and hit a wall.

The 20-year-old, wearing a black firesuit, got out to confront Stewart about the collision during the car event at the Canadaigua Motorsports Park in New York.

But he was hit by Stewart’s car as it continued racing and was catapulted 50ft through the air.

Paramedics tried to revive but he was pronounced dead at hospital upon arrival.

Police said they are not investigating the incident as a criminal matter.

Stewart was “fully cooperative” while he was questioned and was later released, they said.
