Harrowing video footage has emerged of Syrian rebels celebrating the death of a Russian pilot who was killed when his fighter jet was shot out of the sky by Turkish forces.
The clip, shared on social media today, shows a group of men chanting "Allahu Akbar [God is the greatest]" as they examine the pilot's body close to the Turkey/Syria border.
They can also be seen taking pictures of the pilot's bloodied and bruised face with an iPad.
He was one of two Russian pilots killed in the crash today.
The pair are said to have tried to land in their parachutes in Syrian government-held areas after they ejected, but came under fire from members of the Syrian rebel group.
Turkey said the plane had ignored repeated warnings, while Russia denied that the plane crossed the Syrian border into Turkish skies.
The Russian defence ministry said: "We are looking into the circumstances of the crash of the Russian jet.
"The Ministry of Defence would like to stress that the plane was over the Syrian territory throughout the flight."
