Paris Attacks: Seven people released after armed police stormed Saint-Denis apartment

Seven people questioned after anti-terror police stormed a Paris apartment searching for the mastermind behind the terror attacks in the capital have been released, according to sources close to the investigation.

Police held eight people after Wednesday's siege in Saint-Denis in which three people died following an eight-hour stand-off.

Five of those were from inside the building and three outside. A man who said he was in charge of the building is still being held.

However, sources close to the investigation revealed seven of those held have been released, according to reports.

The five inside the building were believed to be squatters while a man and woman picked up outside have also been released.

The latest stage of the investigation into the raid comes on the day new images of the aftermath surfaced.

Photographs show the scale of damage caused during the operation as police closed in on Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the ringleader behind the Paris attacks in which 130 people were killed.

Three people died including Abaaoud and female suicide bomber Hasna Aitboulahcen, who blew herself up following an angry exchange with officers.

Diesel, a French police dog, was also killed in the raid, which took place after Abaaoud was tracked by officers watching Aitboulahcen.

Obtained by ITV News, images show holes smashed in the walls, entire floors destroyed and a whole ceiling blown off an apartment.
