Nice truck attack: Desperate search on Facebook and Twitter for those still missing

Panicked relatives and friends were today desperately appealing for information about loved ones following the terrorist atrocity in Nice.

Images of brothers, sisters, cousins and friends they could not contact after the attack were being circulated online as they begged for information.

More than 1,800 people have joined one missing persons Twitter account called @nicefindpeople, posting heartbreaking messages.

Many spoke of their anguish as scores of calls to the phones of the missing went unanswered.

Most of the pictures were of teenagers, while one photograph appears to show a girl aged about six.

One image was accompanied by a message reading: “Help me, I have lost my brother in the crowd and he is not responding to my telephone calls.”

Another user wrote: “My sister Leticia was in #Nice I’m really worried, she’s not answering her phone, Please help!!!!”
