A newspaper has been forced to apologise after it accidentally published an obituary for Father Christmas.
Aftenposten, Norway's second-biggest selling newspaper, printed the fake notice this week.
The obituary said Father Christmas had died aged 226 on December 3 in the town of Nordkapp.
His funeral was listed as being held on December 28 at the North Pole Chapel.
The advert was removed from the newspaper's digital editions after the blunder was identified.
In a statement, a spokesman for the newspaper said it was investigating how the notice was approved for print.
He said: "Aftenposten has strict guidelines for both the content and use of symbols in our obituaries.
"This ad is a violation of these and should never have been published.
"We will find out what has happened."
