Moment angry elephant sends reckless motorcyclists running for their lives

This was the moment a territorial elephant charged along a main road and crushed a motorbike, sending its riders running for their lives.

The dramatic attack happened in Gorumara National Park in east India on Sunday after the large animal emerged from the forest on to National Highway 31.

While most bystanders cautiously waited for the elephant to return into the wilderness, two motorcyclists tried to sneak past it.

In footage of the incident, the two riders can be seen falling from the vehicle, before the elephant tramples it as they frantically flee the angry animal.
