Guantanamo’s 50 Shades of Bay

The most popular reading material among the terror suspects held at Guantanamo Bay prison camp is not the Koran — it is Fifty Shades of Grey.

The “mummy porn” novels by London author E.L. James are in demand at the Cuban island, according to a US Congressman Jim Moran. He was among delegates who toured Camp 7 which holds “high-value” prisoners including five men charged with plotting the 9/11 attacks.

Mr Moran said: “‘I guess there’s not much going on, these guys are going nowhere, so what the hell.”

In the library is a mix of books, from religious works, to Star Trek novels, Agatha Christie mysteries, stress reduction manuals and Homer’s The Odyssey.
