Goats on a train track: Commuters baffled after herd strays into station

A herd of goats left Spanish commuters baffled when they walked into a train station and on to tracks.

Surprised bystanders in Catalonia took photographs and posted videos of the farm animals as they walked unfazed along the tracks.

Railway staff spent 40 minutes herding the 17 goats towards an unused track inside the station, located in Terrassa, yesterday morning.

Security guard Antonio Jesus Martinez said: “It was like I had been herding goats all my life.”

They were kept on the track until the goat-herder was located an hour after the incident.

Each animal had to be removed one by one, with some goats having to spend up to nine hours inside the station.

The animals were first seen in a tunnel just before the building and an investigation has launched into how they strayed into the station.
