Boy, 10 fights off shark attack in Hawaii by kicking it in the head

A 10-year-old boy fought off a 6ft shark off the coast of Hawaii by kicking it on the nose.

Raymond Senensi was body boarding on Oahu’s western coast when a shark bit his right leg.

“I kicked him with this leg and then I kicked him in the nose. And I didn’t panic,” Raymond said yesterday.

He was attacked on Wednesday and taken to hospital in a serious condition with deep gashes in his leg.

His mother, Shirita Moreno, said she told her children to fight back if a shark attacks.

She said: “I told my son to do that, to kick him. Poke his eye. He was pretty strong. I was hysterical, he wasn’t. He was telling me, ‘Mom, I’m going to be OK.’”

It is believed to be the seventh shark attack in Hawaii this year.
