Bill Murray accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ on set of Aziz Ansari’s Being Mortal

The production of Searchlight film Being Mortal was said to have been halted in the wake of the complaint, reported Deadline.

The complaint was reportedly made last week and production was halted on Monday, according to reports.

According to Vanity Fair, a letter was then sent to crew and staff said: “We were made aware of a complaint, and we immediately looked into it.

“After reviewing the circumstances, it has been decided that production cannot continue at this time.”

Being Mortal is an adaptation of the non-fiction book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by surgeon Atul Gawande.

It has not been publicly confirmed how long production will be halted for.

A representative told Deadline that it does not comment on ongoing investigations.

Evening Standard has contacted Bill Murray’s representative and Searchlight for further comment.

The film was due to be released next year.

The 71-year-old actor has previously been accused of being in a row on set with his Charlie’s Angels co-star Lucy Liu.

She accused him of using “inexcusable” language during a row, telling the LA Times last year: “Some of the language was inexcusable and unacceptable, and I was not going to just sit there and take it. So, yes, I stood up for myself, and I don’t regret it.”

Murray admitted in The Sunday Times in 2009: “Look, I will dismiss you completely if you are unprofessional and working with me.

“When our relationship is professional, and you’re not getting that done, forget it.”
