Clocks go back on Sunday morning - here's what you need to know

At 2am on Sunday October 29 the clocks are set back to Greenwich Mean Time.

This may mark the official end of the summer, but could mean an extra hour of partying on Saturday night or sleeping in on Sunday morning.

But remember to re-set those manual clocks and all other devices apart from your trusty mobile phone.

Your phone just needs to be connected to the internet via 4G or Wifi for it to be updated.

Clocks will go forward again on Sunday March 25 at 1am as we revert to British Summer Time once again.

Every year the clocks change twice a year to mark the beginning of both spring and autumn.

At this time of year we will be switching from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time.

Dating back to the First World War the government brought in Daylight Saving to improve the economy by giving farmers an extra hour of sunlight to work in during the winter.

Sticking to this tradition, we change the clocks to give us more light in the mornings during the cool, dark months.
