Prince Charles condemns 'bestial attacks' in Paris

Prince Charles has condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris as "bestial" as he gave his condolences to the victims.

Speaking on his 67th birthday at a barbecue in Perth, the Prince of Wales asked guests to observe a minute silence in memory of the 127 people killed in the attacks, with 99 also injured.

He said: "Mr Premier, Ladies and Gentlemen, as the Premier was just saying in view of the appalling atrocities that took place in Paris overnight I hope that all of you here will be able to join with me in expressing our particular sympathy and solidarity with everybody in France.

"And also join with me in expressing as well our utter total horror at what has happened.

"Our hearts go out, to all those who have been affected in the most dreadful way by these bestial attacks.

"So perhaps in view of this I could ask all of you to just observe one minute silence in memory of all those who've been affected and lost their lives."

The prince is expected to travel to Paris at the end of the month to deliver a key note speech on climate change after he was invited by French President François Hollande.
