Mother admits lying on Facebook that Primark security guard grabbed her baby while breastfeeding
Caroline Starmer pleaded guilty to a charge of intent to pervert the course of justice after she made the claim on Facebook that quickly went viral
Guilty: Caroline Starmer leaves Leicester Crown Court, where she admitted she lied after claiming a Primark security guard grabbed her baby as she was breastfeeding.
Recounting her "horrific experience" on Facebook, Starmer posted the claim in the Free to Feed group, which campaigns against discrimination towards breastfeeding in public.
The post soon went viral across social media after the claim was made.
However, the store responded by stating there was no evidence of an altercation between store staff and Starmer.
The 28-year-old was warned she could face jail when she returns to court for sentencing in December.
