A pensioner has died after a gun was fired as he visited a hunting shop in Surrey this morning, police said.
The man, believed to be in his eighties, was declared dead at John Powell Gun Makers in Reigate.
A Surrey Police spokesman said officers are investigating the circumstances around the death, adding that the man was a visitor or customer, rather than the owner of the shop.
"A call was received to say that a gun had been discharged at the John Powell Gun Makers in the town centre," the spokesman said.
"Although the investigation is still in the early stages there is nothing to suggest there is any threat to the general public or any third party involvement at this time."
