Housekeeper 'groped by MP' has lied before to win £15,000, says ex-lover

A lesbian housekeeper accusing a Tory MP of making sexual advances towards her previously won a payout by inventing a similar claim, a tribunal heard today.

The housekeeper received £15,960 from a former employer after claiming a colleague groped her breast, her ex-lover told the hearing.

The claimant’s former civil partner said she had deliberately given false information in the sex discrimination case and won — and added that she believed the housekeeper was now “conspiring” to make money out of the politician.

The MP and his wife — who cannot be named for legal reasons — have been accused of offering the housekeeper a threesome and then sacking her after she declined.

She told the employment tribunal the couple groped her as she sat on the sofa in their living room, leaving her feeling humiliated and suicidal.

The middle-aged housekeeper claims the MP and his wife invited her to join them for a drink last August. She alleges they began French kissing in front of her, then the wife rubbed her on the groin and the MP placed his hand on the top of her thigh. The housekeeper said she had “no option” but to resign from her £24,500-a-year job.

But her former partner today said her ex had told her she “fabricated” a story about a co-worker touching her breasts in a previous tribunal. She also said the claimant lied to a tribunal and medical experts and “exaggerated” an existing shoulder injury to win money.

The MP rejects the allegations and says the claimant’s employment was ended over concerns that she did not get on with his other staff.
