Eleven people were slapped with fines of £200 each after police raided their Valentine’s Day party on Saturday night.

Southwark Police said they were called to a flat in Camberwell where they found the group breaking lockdown restrictions.

It comes as a man was charged over a rowdy party on a houseboat in Hackney, east London.

Officers responded and located the boat off Hackney Marshes at around 4:20am.

They found about 30 people at the illegal gathering and arrested one man on suspicion of breaching Human Protection Regulations.

Jordy Nicholas Van Duijvenbode, 31, of no fixed address, was charged on Sunday with one count of holding a gathering of more than 30 people and one count of participating in a gathering of two or more people.

He has since been released on bail and will appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court on March 2.
