Go and collect some sperm... unsuspecting interns given outrageous tasks in E4 spoof show The Work Experience

With around 50 applicants fighting for every graduate job, it is not surprising to see what interns will put themselves through to get a leg up the career ladder.

Even if that means collecting sperm from Simon Webbe from pop band Blue for your boss who wants to get pregnant, then holding her legs up for an entire cab journey to help her chances of artificial insemination.

The task is just one in a series set by a fake London fashion PR agency Grade PR for a new prank television show on E4 called The Work Experience.

Each week the cameras follow two ambitious interns during what they think is a week's unpaid work experience being filmed by a documentary crew at Grade PR, working for a Devil Wears Prada-style boss called Joanna.

However the entire agency is fictional and staffed by actors who create outlandish scenarios to see how far the interns will go to try and get their dream job.

Former EastEnders actress Kate Miles, who plays Joanna Grade, said: "None of them twigged at all, we couldn't believe it. Even though they were put in such bizarre situations.

"People are so concerned about how they are coming across they are not thinking about whether or not you are real.

"The most outrageous scenes are in episode three when the intern has to pick up Simon Webbe's sperm. He hands her a package, then she holds my legs in the air in a cab to help me get pregnant."

In another scene, the interns are seemingly arrested after Grade PR is banned by all model agencies in London so hires some Latvian prostitutes for a catwalk show.

One of the interns who took part, Brave Benson, said the current job market is "nearly impossible to enter [and] as most young people hoping to break into the job market, I was willing to do whatever it took to get a job that I love. I never questioned what I was asked to do, I just ensured I did it the best I could."
