One poster said: “This is probably the worst-designed bike lane I've ever seen. Absolutely horrendous; and it doesn't surprise me one bit that you'd see an accident like this there.”
Another wrote: “It's such terrible lane design, I can't believe it.”
Mr Primrose told the Standard he was to blame, not the road layout.
“I think the cycle superhighways are fantastic and are essential for London,” he said.
