It was spectacular in Fallout 3 when you broke out of Vault 101 and were blinded by the sunlight as you viewed the irradiated wasteland for the first time. But, as you started exploring the world, everything became far too familiar very quickly. One exception was Megaton, a small town built around an unexploded atomic weapon, with cults who worshipped the bomb, an old sheriff called Lucas Simms trying to keep order, and a dingy bar full of shady figures. Fallout 4 needs more locations with their own identity, building on Megaton's solid foundations.
