Dragons' Den record-breakers Lost My Name sell millionth book

The Hackney-based publishing start-up that in 2014 landed the best ever deal on TV’s Dragons' Den has published its one millionth book.

Lost My Name, which has created technology to make personalised books for children, secured a £100,000 investment from Piers Linney in exchange for a 4% stake in the company on Dragon’s Den.

Orders surged after the programme aired, helping its first title “The Little Boy/Girl Who Lost His/Her Name”, which creates a story around the individual letters of a child’s name and costs £19.99, to the million milestone.

The company, founded by Asi Sharabi, David Cadji-Newby, Pedro Serapicos and Tal Oron – three dads and an uncle – has also recently raised $9 million in a financing round led by Google Ventures.

It second book, “The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home”, was launched last month and it is exploring more ideas.
