The Frick Collection celebrated it's Annual Young Fellows Ball last night.
Pouring rain and chilly temperatures didn’t stop glamorous guests from arriving at the Museum in droves. While the event is usually a must for young professionals and aspiring socialites on any given year, last evening’s festivities had the dual honor of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Young Fellows Ball and Altuzarra’s 10th anniversary. Fittingly, the Honorary Chairman was Joseph Altuzarra.
Members of the steering and benefit committees mingled in the gorgeous garden court, sipping on champagne and cocktails, bedecked in sparkling Altuzarra dresses perfect for the “Cinquecento chic” dress code.
Altuzarra said, “I’ve always loved coming here – and when this opportunity came up, I thought it was so perfect. The themes from the [Moroni] Exhibition and the Italian Renaissance have been a really big part of our design language [at Altuzarra], and it’s always been so interesting to me. It was a super organic and really easy decision to work with The Frick.
The evening – dubbed Notte a Palazzo – takes its name the current special exhibition on view, Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture. Notable guests included Snapchat's Selby Drummond, shoe designer Sarah Flint, Man Repeller's Leandra Medine, siblings Laurence and Toby Milstein, celebrity stylist Britt Theodora, and Princess Noor Pahlavi.
Décor was provided by fashion mainstays Putnam & Putnam. Guests ended the evening (at the museum, at least) dancing in the music room, before those from whom the night was still young (or just didn’t have to be at work the following morning) headed out to the after parties: The first, for the Uptown Crowd at Rotisserie Georgette, the second for the Downtown crowd at the Paradise club at The Edition Times Square – where the walls are bedecked with Hieronymus Bosch paintings. A garden of earthly delights, indeed.
