Labour has lost control of another of its previously safe councils in London in a fresh blow to Keir Starmer as he faces calls to quit from his own MPs.
London Labour MPs have broken cover to call for the Prime Minister to resign after the disastrous local elections for the party.
Catherine West, MP for Hornsey and Friern Barnet, and Brent West MP Barry Gardiner joined veteran Leftwinger John McDonnell in urging the PM to "put party and country first" as the local election results nationwide suggested Nigel Farage could be heading to No10.
More than 20 Labour MPs nationwide have called for the PM to go.
It comes after Zack Polanski’s Green Party scored stunning victories in the London local elections by seizing control of a sweep of boroughs.
A dramatic day following Thursday’s local elections also saw Mr Farage’s Reform UK take control of its first borough in the capital by winning Havering.
However it also lost key targets as the Tories comfortably held onto Bexley and Bromley.
In a disastrous set of results for Labour and the Prime Minister, the party lost control of Westminster and Wandsworth among others.
The final results from London’s elections are due on Saturday, with the council results in Croydon, Tower Hamlets and Lewisham all being announced.

Green Party swoops to victory in Lewisham
The Green party has triumphed in Lewisham, winning 40 of the borough’s 54 seats in a decisive election win. Labour has trailed behind them, holding just 14 votes.
Greens lead the way in Lewisham
Lewisham is still announcing its results, but so far the Green Party is massively leading the way with 22 seats, followed by Labour with eight seats.
London MP Catherine West reveals her challenge to Starmer
Catherine West, MP for Hornsey and Friern Barnet, has vowed to directly challenge Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership herself if the cabinet doesn’t topple him.
Labour MP threatens to trigger leadership contest
Sir Keir Starmer's premiership was plunged into its greatest crisis after a London MP threatened to trigger a leadership contest on Monday.
Catherine West, MP for Hornsey and Friern Barnet, gave the Cabinet a deadline to choose a new leader over the weekend or she would start attempts to oust the Prime Minister.
After Labour's disastrous election results, the former Foreign Office minister told BBC radio: "This afternoon, I would like the Cabinet to come around the table and elect a leader amongst themselves without humiliating the current leader, Keir Starmer.
"He also should have a role, perhaps doing international affairs, but we need someone from within the Cabinet to step forward as the leader, and then we will have a new leader of the party without having to have a leadership election.
"If that cannot happen, and there are no leadership hopefuls who come forward tomorrow, then Monday morning, I will put my name forward to stand for the leader of the Labour Party, and I'll be seeking the 81 names that are needed to take to the party chair, and I will begin a leadership election."
It is not clear if Ms West can gather the 81 names needed to trigger a leadership contest.
But her move thrust Sir Keir's premiership into its greatest peril, especially if more senior Labour MPs put their names forward.
Aspire party leads the way in Tower Hamlets
Tower Hamlets is still announcing its local election results, but signs so far show a clean sweep for Mayor Lutfur Rahman's local Aspire Party, which currently is on 23 seats. Labour trails behind with four seats, followed by the Green party with two seats, Liberal Democrats with one seat and Conservatives with one seat.
No overall control of Croydon
The result are in for Croydon, with no overall control over the council. Labour looks set to be the biggest party in a minority administration with 30 seats, followed closely by the Tories with 28 seats, eight Green seats, two Liberal Democrat seats and two for Reform UK.
Three councils left
With Bradford as well as Lambeth falling out of Labour control today, we are just left with the three remaining London boroughs to return their results.
Croydon, Lewisham and Tower Hamlets have already elected their mayors - but we should also know their councillors at some point today.
No overall control in Lambeth
The final results in Lambeth are in, and the Greens fall just short of gaining a majority.
They will have 29 seats, with Labour taking 26 and the Liberal Democrats the remaining eight.
Its another crushing defeat for Labour, and a huge swing - they’ve lost 28 seats there.
Going down to the wire in Lambeth
It looks like the Greens will be exceedingly close to a majority in Lambeth.
With 54 of the 63 seats having reported, the Greens have 26, with 20 for Labour and eight for the Liberal Democrats.
The Greens need six of the remaining nine seats for the majority.
Labour have now officially lost control of the borough - another one slipped away.
