Home Secretary Theresa May may deny she is the new Cara Delevingne but she continues to turn fashion heads and nearly upstaged Cara’s sister Poppy at last night’s Sugarplum Dinner.

The event at One Mayfair was a fundraising initiative to support parents of young children with Type 1 diabetes.

May, who was accompanied by her husband Philip John May, proudly told me she was sporting a dress by Amanda Wakeley. Among the other guests were Pippa Middelton and her boyfriend Nico Jackson, who went on to party at 5 Hertford Street, Lord Fellowes and Clive Anderson.
