What better way to woo high-fliers than take out a full page ad in today’s FT featuring a pile of white powder and the caption “Powerful”. So who is suggesting it is the equivalent of a performance-boosting drug? Bloomberg, promoting Business Week magazine.
Read the small print and you find the powder is actually guar gum, “a starch used in everything from fracking fluids to ice-cream to catfood”.
Not that this will soothe FT staffers.
