Virgin Media has been hit with a fault affecting its service to thousands of users in London and beyond.

The website downdetector.co.uk says users of the major TV and broadband provider started reporting problems around 10.30am on Thursday (May 14).

It it showing that reports of problems spiked at above 4,000 at around 11.40am and then again at 1.40pm.

A heatmap displayed on the website shows the majority of reports coming from London.

One customer reported: “Most channels on TIVO pixalated – OK till 20 minutes ago – cannot get current service status from Virgin.”

An X user tagged the service provider, asking: “What’s up with your service? Pixellating on all channels.”

The official Virgin Media account responded to another user apologising for the disruption.

“We’re aware of the issue and our engineers are investigating,” it said.
