Colleagues said he and his wife moved to London a decade ago because they thought the capital was safer and offered more opportunity.

He said: “The last thing I saw him do was buy cigarettes for his wife. He had quit smoking himself just last week.”
Deliveroo’s chief executive William Shu said: “He was a well-liked and hard-working member of the driver community and will be missed. We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss and extend our deepest sympathies to his family.”
Colleagues last night left flowers and photographs at the junction plus a hand-written message reading: “From your friends, drive safe to heaven.” Paramedics fought for 80 minutes to revive Mr Jesus in the road before he was pronounced dead after the crash at 9.15pm on Sunday.
Medical student Lucas Sutkowski, 24, who lives nearby, said: “Everyone has complained but nothing has happened. We hear hundreds of collisions.
“Cars crashed into the barrier so many times they eventually just erected a plastic one. We’ve seen Ocado vans on their sides and Jeeps on their roofs, yet Newham council said it’s fine. It’s clearly a design flaw and the cycle path has made things more confusing.”
The junction on the extended CS2 Cycle Superhighway has been branded deadly by residents after 10 collisions injuring cyclists there last year.
Newham council said today: “We are considering measures to slow down traffic approaching the junction.”
A man aged 25 arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving has been bailed until next month.
