“But she's like a lot of commuters not looking at the boards' special notices and needed a phone call to prompt to look up at [the] text that was posted, during which I sneaked up behind her with the flowers and ring.
“The board had three messages cycling every 10 seconds so it was tricky every time she looked at it, it was one of the other two but eventually it caught her eye at the right time.”
To celebrate their engagement, the happy couple later visited the Shard and the OXO Tower’s restaurant for dinner.
A South West Trains spokesman said: "We were absolutely delighted to help Waheed and Zainab's engagement at London Waterloo.
