Schoolboy missing for six days with just £15 in his pocket found safe and well

A 13-year-old boy who went missing for six days with just £15 in his pocket has been found safe and returned home to his family.

Omar Bartocci, from Wood Green in north London, went missing on Wednesday after his school broke up for summer term.

Following his disappearance, posters were put up around London in a desperate attempt to find the schoolboy.

Today, a friend helping with the appeal wrote on Facebook: “After six days and £15 in his pocket Omar has been found. He's currently just returned home with his Mum and Dad.

“I'd like to thank you all for your help, support and positive vibes. It has made a massive difference.”

Omar’s father told the Standard on Sunday that he was left feeling “numb” following his son's disappearance.

He said: “I’ve just tried to stay focused on achieving stuff every day and trying to get stuff done but it has made me feel numb.”

After setting up an appeal with the hashtag “Lets get Omar home”, the teen was found and has returned to his parents.

Haringey police, who were leading the search, today tweeted: Happy to update missing teen Omar Bartocci, 13, has now been found safe and well. Thanks for all the help and retweets."
