Today also saw the women’s one-day race in cycling, where female riders competed for the same prize money the men will be chasing in tomorrow's Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic.
Spectators lined London's streets to see the best women’s cycling teams in the world battle it out over 12 laps of a closed 5.5km circuit that started and finished on The Mall.
Others chose to watch the 11th Brompton World Championship in St. James’s Park, which saw more than 500 riders unfold their iconic bikes and complete eight laps around the park.
Tomorrow the events continue, with the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, which will see 150 of the world’s top male cyclists set off from Horse Guards Parade before racing to Surrey.
Amateur cyclists will also be hopping on their bikes - and raising buckets for charity - tomorrow in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46 long distance races.
