Puck’s sweet on Candy’s Sugar Quay

Michelin-starred chef Wolfgang Puck is set to open a waterfront restaurant and bar as part of the Candy brothers’ new £400 million development on the banks of the Thames.

The 280,193 sq ft development will include 165 flats and a jetty restaurant. It will be Austrian-born US chef Puck’s second restaurant in London after opening steakhouse CUT in 2011.

The City of London granted permission earlier this year to redevelop the Sugar Quay site near Tower Bridge. The 11-storey building was bought from administrator KPMG for £34 million last year by Christian Candy’s CPC Group. Today it emerged they had now bought the freehold for the site from The Fishmongers’ Company.

Christian Candy said: “We will start shortly and expect to be finished by late 2016.”
